Hello and welcome!
My name is Mrs. Osterhoudt and I am the 4th grade teacher at Remer Elementary this year! I am extremely excited to work with the children, as well as with the families of the children. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with our fourth graders this year!
I would like to share a little bit about myself. I am not originally from the area. I graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 2009 in the beautiful small town of Ironwood, MI. From there, I attended Gogebic Community College for two years to receive my Associate of Arts degree. From there, I transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Superior. There, I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Reading and Language Arts. I spent half of the school year substitute teaching in Superior, WI before I moved here to begin teaching first grade. I graduated in 2018 from Minnesota State University with my Masters of Science in Reading. This is my seventh year of teaching and my sixth year in fourth grade. I am very excited for the new experiences that this year is going to bring! I cannot emphasize how excited I am to bring fun ideas and exciting learning experiences into the classroom for the children. I am married to my husband, Evan, and am the proud dog-mom of our Bloodhound, Wrinkles.
Outside of school, I love to spend time outside. I enjoy downhill skiing the very most in the wintertime and I love kayaking, fishing, camping, waterskiing, and spending time with my family during the summer. I also love cheering for my Detroit Lions and my Detroit Tigers!
I am extremely excited to work with all of you this year as we learn together and work together to do what's best for the children. Thank you for your support and patience as we work together. I encourage you to contact me with any concerns, questions, or anything you would like to talk about.
Thank you so much for your support as we move through this wonderful school year!
